Director of Student Relations Nominations

Dallas Son

Aloha AC Members!

My name is Dallas Son, and I am running to be your next Director of Student Relations. This is my second semester in the club and my class standing is a senior. A fun fact for you all to know is that I am named after the Dallas Cowboys, and know nothing about football. A personal quote that is my favorite is "I am nothing but a mosaic of the people I've met and the things they've carried," by Samuel Miller.

The reason why I want to run for this position is because I believe that connecting with others is a crucial part of the human experience. Since the beginning of when I first joined the club, I have gained and experienced many new friendships, and memories that I would not have if I didn’t join. A goal that I have for AC is to offer more variety of events so that members may form genuine connections with each other. I personally believe that participating in a diversity of socials will lead to said connections. Anyways, I believe that I can be a valuable resource to the club and our members in our journey in experiencing the human connection. Thanks for reading my short spiel about myself.

Sincerely,

Dallas

Hi Accounting Club!

This is Mikala speaking, and I would like to step forward to run for Director of Student Relations for Spring 2026.

Before joining AC, I didn’t know what to expect.. I didn’t think that accountants were fun, but AC proved me wrong. The Accounting Club has provided me with numerous opportunities, from networking to developing my soft skills, and has even given me the chance to earn my own internship. Being able to develop myself with like-minded people allows not only me to grow, but us to grow as a community. I am so appreciative of what this organization offers to us all. A chance to meet people striving for the same goal of getting our degree. Accounting Club provides lessons that classes can’t provide.

I will admit, I am a bit new to this club and this semester, but I’ve seen how it’s helped me and the others around me develop. I would love to be a part of a club with a community as supportive as AC. Being able to see so many like-minded people in a field, where at first, I had no confidence, really encouraged me. I would like to continue what it has brought me into future semesters of AC! I love being able to come out to the events to meet fellow accountants-in-training. I would love to plan events with those same intentions. Let’s continue to grow together!

Best,

Mikala Abagon

Hey AC, it’s Wayne!

I’m excited to share that I’m running for Director of Student Relations! Being part of AC has been one of the highlights of my college experience — the people I’ve met, the events, the support, and the overall vibe of this club have made such a huge impact on me. I’m genuinely grateful for all the opportunities, laughs, and experiences I’ve had since joining, and for everyone who makes this club feel so welcoming.

I’m running because I want to help keep that same energy going. I want members — new and returning — to feel comfortable, connected, and included. Whether it’s making communication smoother, helping people get involved, or just being someone you can talk to, I want to make AC even more fun, approachable, and supportive. You all make this club what it is, and I’d love the chance to give back and help make next year even better.

Thanks for everything so far — can’t wait for what’s ahead!
