Melanie Young

Hello AC! 

This is Melanie! I’m so excited to be running to potentially serve as your next Director of Human Resources! Although this is my first semester in the Accounting Club, I am eager to contribute to a community that encourages relational and professional growth. 

At the beginning of this school year, when I was contemplating what clubs I should join, what ultimately drew me to AC was the people– all of you. From the first general meeting, you all welcomed me whole heartedly and have allowed me to feel comfortable to be myself, ask questions, and learn more about the accounting field. Thank you for that! :) 

If elected, I would be honored to give back to the community that has given me confidence, new friendships, and a growth mindset. I do not take saying “yes” lightly, so I will give all of you my greatest efforts in the responsibilities that come with this position. Ultimately, I hope to continue fostering the warm, inclusive, and supportive culture that AC embodies so well.

✰I have been given the honor of running to be your next Director of HR for Spring 2026! I am running for this position because I believe people are the real assets. I’m not the loudest person in the room, but I’m always paying attention. I care about how things feel, not just how they function. HR is about making sure people feel seen, supported, and like they’re part of something that matters. That’s the kind of energy I want to bring to this role. 

✰AC has given me a space to grow, connect, and be a part of something bigger than myself. It’s helped me find my voice, build those real friendships, and show up with purpose. I want to make sure every member gets to experience that same sense of belonging. I’m super chill, alittle brainrotted, but hardworking and full of Aloha. I believe in what AC has to offer and would love to contribute as a board member to help keep that alive. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
