Howzit AC!

My name is Iris Ponce and I am delighted to run to be your next Director of Human Resources! I am currently a senior double majoring in Accounting and Marketing and next semester will be my third and last one in AC. I was very fortunate to serve as your current Director of Internal Affairs and I would love to run it back on board again one last time!

Throughout my academic career, I have held numerous leadership positions such as Leo Club Vice President, Student Government Community Service Chair, and Academy Ambassador for Pearl City High School. During this semester, I joined Accuity llp as an audit intern as well as joined BAP and ITMA. These experiences helped me to cross paths with so many amazing friends and professionals and allowed me to encourage them to support AC whether it be through supporting our fundraisers, inspiring them to become active members, or even convincing members from other clubs to join AC! As the current Director of IA, I am no stranger to handling payments and staying organized when it comes to tracking our members’ active status requirements in the club as I had the responsibility of doing so for all our fundraisers. Additionally, I will be able to leverage my marketing experience and my knowledge as an EB to uphold our club’s values and make this next recruitment season our best.

Overall, I recognize how intimidating joining new clubs can be as I was scared to join AC myself last spring. However, I ended up sticking around and enjoyed the people and opportunities in the club so much. Without AC, I would not be able to have the friends, connections, or opportunities that I am immensely grateful for today, so I want to use this role as Director of HR to share the AC effect to as many new and returning members that I can reach.
